Trip Planning

Someone said planning a trip is as exciting as taking the trip itself. Well once again, that is true in our case.
In February of this year we celebrated our first year of being retired and decided it was time to take an extended vacation so we decided to take a month out of our busy schedule (Ya right-we are retired remember) and go see the National Parks in Utah. Why, you ask? Well why not? Utah has some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.
We will first go to Lind, Washington with our travel club to watch the Combine Demolition Derby. For those of you who do not know what a Combine is…Google it for crying out loud you city slickers. When the rest of the club heads back home we will head down through Salt Lake City and then to the “Arches” and “Canyonlands” in Moab. From Moab we will head to Hurricane (pronounced her-ah-kun) and Bryce and Zion.
Once we leave Utah we will head to Las Vegas so Dianne can leave her Social Security check there to help the local economy. Then we will head up through California to Sacramento so Dianne can visit with one of her High School girl friends. Let’s hope they have gotten over the High School giggle stage. I am not betting on it. From Sacramento we will head to Bend, Oregon and then back home again.
After 27 days living in a little metal box I wonder if we will still be talking to each other when we get home. Pray for us, for if it doesn’t work out one of us may be moving in with you. If you get my drift.
